Bienvenue, welcome to Chez Montiz! Relax and discover.

The House

Chambres d’Hotes Chez Montiz is situated on the edge of a rustic French village – Montazels.

An imposing, recently renovated, French villa can be your comfortable base to take the time to enjoy and explore the fabulous Occitanie region of South-West France.  There is adequate space to ensure a relaxing experience in guests’ shared areas, such as a stylish lounge with high ceiling, Murano glass light fittings, comfortable seating and French doors leading to a wrap-around terrace.

On the terrace you can enjoy your continental breakfast in the morning sunshine or a glass of good local wine, watching the sunset.

The Surroundings

Four restaurants are within walking distance from the property and offer a traditional French cuisine. The vibrant atmosphere of the Esperaza food market is not to be missed. Meet local musicians and artists. Taste some delicious cheese as you stroll through the market.

Take a bus from the village to Limoux (for 1Euro!), a small picture-postcard town, famous for Blanquette and Cremant (sparkling wines), a place of the Carnaval de Limoux, festivals and fetes. Check out Rennes les Bains baths, built when the region was controlled by Romans and reputed to treat rheumatism. Explore the Fortress of Carcasssone and Cathar Castles of Mirepoix. Further afield, visit the Park Naturel Regional des Pyreness to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. Spend a day by the Mediterranean Sea in Narbonne plage.

Great Rooms

Chez Montiz is a small, family-run bed and breakfast with attention to detail.
There are three guest bedrooms, all with modern en-suite bathrooms, in this large house. All three guest rooms offer comfort, style and functionality with very good value.

With Great Views

Take a seat on the terrace of Chez Montiz and you will not be disappointed with the panoramic view of the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees.
Spot the mysterious Rennes le Chateau and see if you can solve the puzzle of what connects a young priest from 1885, Mary Magdalene and the Da Vinci Code together.
Or simply watch the laid-back rural life of the locals down in the lush valley of the river Aude.

Amazing Weather

In general, the climate of the region is Mediterranean; with hot, dry summers. You can expect up to 300 days of sunshine a year and cooler, more mountainous weather conditions at the higher points of the Pyrenees.

Stunning Scenery

The Occitanie region boasts a breath-taking beauty and a rich variety of landscapes: hillside vineyards, mountains forests, dramatic gorges, fast flowing rivers, green valleys.
